But not for 55-year-old English tutor Mr. Dean Nixon, who turned to the needle-insertion therapy to help ease his chronic back pain” . The article also reported under the section “ Factfile: Acupuncture” that:”Acupuncture is a system of healing that has been practiced for more than 2,500 years. It is originated in China and other Far Eastern culture. It involves inserting needles under the skin to stimulate the nervous system to promote well-being. Dr Tukmachi uses acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal diseases, arthritis, migraine, frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, backache, cervical spondylitis, trigeminal neuralgia, skin diseases, asthma, hot flushes, menopause and depression. He also uses it to help people lose weight and to stop smoking”.

Pain Can Be More than Just a sign or Symptom

Pain is a warning sign and not a disease. So that the majority of patients seek Acupuncture after experiencing acute pain for more than three months, and later classified as chronic pain suffers. Their lingering, ongoing conditions affect every aspect of their lives: mood, concentration, motor performance, sleep, social relations, etc. Researchers even have new evidence indicating that pain affects the immune system such that cancer cells appear to grow faster when there is pain.

At our Acupuncture Clinics (London, Manchester, Stoke, Derby and Wolverhampton) we commonly treat these types of pain:
